Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Trailer Wiring Harness here on a 2017 Honda Pilot. So the trailer wiring harness is gonna be one of the few things that you need in order to successfully tow a trailer here with your Pilot. In addition to this, you're going to need a trailer hitch, as well as a ball mount/hitch ball. All of which we carry here at Etrailer. Now our trailer wired harness, simply put, is gonna transfer the taillight signals from the vehicle to our trailer. The Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness is going to allow us to pull small trailers, as well as use any lights we may have on our cargo carrier. Now, it's going to provide the basic functions, such as the stop and turn signals, as well as the running light circuits. Now, the four pole connector that this gives us is going to be an industry standard, and it's going to be the most common one you're going to need for some of the smaller trailers.Now as you can see now, we have our wiring harness routed out the hatch here and secured to the safety chain loops on our trailer hitch. Our Tekonsha T-One here is going to offer a seven-way trailer connector.Now the seven-way trailer connector is going to be great for some of the medium to larger duty trailers, which have electric brakes that we need to activate. This connector here is going to provide us with all the basic trailer lighting circuits.It's also going to charge us. It's also going to allow us to use a battery on the trailer, because it has a battery charge line circuit, as well as is mentioned, the electric brake circuit. However, keep in mind, we still need an electric brake controller, in order to activate the trailer's brakes, which we sell here at each trailer.The Tekonsha seven-way is going to be a super easy install. more

Rob: Rob here etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector on our 2019 Honda Pilot. Now, our Tekonsha wiring is going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, so we're going to have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our turn signals, our taillights, and our brake lights. Now whether we're towing a trailer or we have an accessory that has lights on it, it's always an easier way to have a plug rather than trying to splice into your wiring, because they can be a little nerve-wracking for some customers, and for good reasons.I don't want to hack into my wiring and my vehicle either, but our Tekonsha wiring is going to be for the factory tow package, so we're just going to have this plugged inside the vehicle. It'll plug in. There's no cutting or splicing required. Since it is designed to stay on the outside of the vehicle, they're even going to include a grommet, so that we don't have to worry about drilling any holes or anything else. more

Our wiring is going to provide our trailer with the necessary lighting signals while you're towing it down the road to not only keep you safe, but legal. And as a bonus, it's also going to help other motorists know what your intentions are as you're going down the road.Now, a couple of things I really like about this kit is, one, it just plugs right into our factory harness, so it's going to be very easy to get hooked up, and two is the fact that it uses a module box. Now that module box is going to protect our factory wiring if a short we're to occur on our trailer.Now some of our customers wonder if their four way wiring can be permanently mounted outside, and the answer is yes. And it just so happens that there is a rubber grommet conveniently located right there next to our box. more

Today in our 2017 Honda Pilot, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package, with a 7-way Trailer Connector. Part number 118286.To help us with our installation, we're going to be using the Pollak Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware for a 7-Pole RV-style Trailer Connector. Part number PK12711U.Here's what our wiring is going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to provide us with a 7-way Connector, so we can all have all of the lights going down the road that we need, like our taillights, turn signals, our brake lights awesome our reverse lights and it will provide us a 12 Volt Power Source and an option, if we have a brake controller to control the brakes on our trailer.Our 7-way Connector is going to be compatible with all the adapters like, a four, five or six way and those are sold separately and you can pick them up here at etrailer.com.Our wiring is custom designed for our Pilot that has a Factory Tow Package so we're not going to have to cut or splice into an of our wiring. We're simply going to have a plug on the driver's side and inside the hatch that we're going to plug it into. Our wiring is also going to have a power converter to make sure the lights on our trailer match our Pilot.Now there is going to be a few fuses that are included in the kit that we're going to have to put in place in order for the Tow Package to be activated. more

Today on our 2017 Honda Pilot we will be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with Upgraded Circuit Protected Module Light with 4 Way Flat Wiring, part number 118679. All right, here's what our trailer wiring looks like once it's installed. As you can see, it's designed to be stored outside of our vehicle, making it readily accessible for when we want to hook up to our trailer. When we're not using it, we can store it around the safety chain loops on our hitch. This will keep it up and out of the way from dragging on the ground, and help protect it. This trailer wiring harness here gives us the basic functions as required by law in order for us to safely tow a trailer. Our white wire gives us our ground. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Honda Pilot C56291- Video
Today, on our 2017 Honda Pilot, we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package vehicles for the 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56291. Okay, here's what our trailer wiring looks like installed. When it's not in use, we can just store it down here up out of the way in our cargo compartment and close the cover on up, and it's out of the way. We don't have to worry about it getting snagged on anything when we're loading cargo in and out of the hatch, and when we want to use it we can simply open up our cover, grab our wire here, drape it down the side so it's out of the way of our hatch latch. We can close our hatch on up, and as you can see, we have an adequate length of wire which drapes down right next to the receiver on our hitch, making this an ideal wiring harness that will hook up to our trailer and yet store out of the way when not in use, so we don't have to worry about the elements damaging it. We do have a dust cover here, which is provided, which covers up our connector when it's not in use to help keep the dirt and debris, and other items out of it, causing a poor connection or a short. This wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely tow a trailer. more

Best 2016 Honda Pilot Trailer Wiring Options- Video
Today, we're going to be comparing for you the differences in the custom-fit vehicle wiring options available for the 2016 Honda Pilot. The wiring systems we're going to be comparing today are going to be two 4-pole systems, one from Curt. This is part number C56291, and one from Tekonsha, this is part number 118679. These gives us the basic signals that we need, like our right turn and brake, our left turn and brake, and a tail light signal. Once we move over to the next one, this is going to offer us 7-pole design. Now, the 7-pole gives us the same three, but we're going to add a reverse light signal. We're going to add a 12-volt power signal, and if you decide to, you can also wire a brake controller up to the system. That part number from Tekonsha is 118274. The basic systems here are going to deliver for us the lights that we need for maybe a cargo carrier, maybe a small trailer, even a boat trailer, something like that. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2016 Honda Pilot we're going to be showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Seven Pole Round Trailer Connector. Part number is 118274. Now, the heart of our system of course is going to be our seven pole round plug. This is going to give us of course all the turn signals, it's going to give our blinkers, it's going to give us our brakes, but it's going to provide 12 volt power to the rear of the vehicle. It's going to give us our reverse light signal, which is very important for marine applications. It will also give you a brake controller signal if you've installed a brake controller in your vehicle, and wire it up to the wire coming rear to the plug. You'll see this isn't connected just yet. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2008 Honda Pilot, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, Part Number 118336. Here's what the wiring looks like once it's installed in the vehicle, and as you can see, it's very easy to keep hidden and out of the way when not in use. In order to access it, all you do is pop up this cargo cover, and there you've got access to it right there. When you're ready to use it, you simply unwind it, close you cargo cover back down, and pull it out of the rear of the vehicle here, making sure you keep it away from the latch there at the center so that it can't pinch the wires and damage them. Then leave it hang out. When you're ready to hit the road, you close your tailgate and plug in your wiring. Here's everything we're going to be working with that comes in the kit. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda Pilot 43105- Video
Today on our 2008 Honda Pilot we're going to be taking a look at the and installing the Hopkins plug and tow vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat connector, part number 43105. Here's what the wiring looks like once it's installed. As you can see, it's very well hidden. In order to access it, all you do is you need to lift up on the cargo cover back here. Then it's tucked down right over here. Something that I really like about this kit is the fact that this wire comes pre-covered with a nice heavy duty tape there to help ensure that that wiring isn't going to get damaged when you're using it or when it's tucked away. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Honda Pilot C56291- Video
Today we're going to reviewing and installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness factory tow package with 4 pole flat connector, part number C56291, on a 2016 Honda Pilot. Now if you need to access your trailer wiring for use, all you're going to need to do is lift up this cover. Pop out the cover for your spare tire tools and you can pull your wiring out to whatever length you're going to need. Whenever you close your trunk, I definitely recommend avoiding the area around the latch as to not pinch or damage the wires. You can close the trunk and use however much you need of it. When you're done, you just reverse that. You open your trunk with this cover back up, you can tuck your wiring right back where it was behind the spare tire tools, pop everything back into place, lower your cover and you're back to that nice clean look in the rear of your vehicle. We're just going to take a look at everything that comes with it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Honda Pilot 118679- Video
Today on a 2016 Honda Pilot, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for the factory tow package. This is going to offer the four pull flat trailer connector. It's part number is 118679. To test out our wiring, we're going to use a test light. The ground clamp, we connect that onto that bare terminal. That's going to test to make sure we've got a good ground. Next we'll have the headlights turned on in the car and we can test the brown wire. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda Pilot c55336- Video
Today on our 2008 Honda Pilot, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Direct Fit Wiring Harness with four-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55336. First, we'll open up the rear hatch. Then we're going to open up the rear storage compartment and remove the rear threshold. Now we're going to underneath the threshold and pop it up. I'll go ahead and pull the weather stripping back then you can use a flat bladed screwdriver or if you have an interior trim panel tool to get underneath and release the fasteners as we work across. Here you can see the fasteners that we freed. If any of them get left inside the attachment point, we'll simply remove it and put it back into the threshold. Here on the back edge of the inner storage compartment, we can push it forward and locate the manufacturer's tow port. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2003 Honda Pilot we're going to be installing they Tow Ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118336. We'll go ahead and begin our installation by raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next we'll need to lift the rear cover here up and out of the way. Go ahead and just lift it up and then just clips out. Go ahead and set that out of the way for now. We'll then need to remove this whole rear threshold piece. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2005 Honda Pilot we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118336. To being our install we'll first go ahead and open up the rear hatch. Then the rear storage compartment door and we'll remove the door and set it aside. Next we'll need to remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold we simply need to get underneath of it and free the fasteners underneath using a flat blade screw driver. I'll get underneath the threshold and start working the fasteners to release them. When we remove the threshold and turn it over we can see the snap fasteners that secure it. Between the back edge of the storage compartment and the front edge of the sheet metal if we push forward we can locate the wiring connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on our 2010 Honda Pilot, we will be installing the tow ready; custom fit wiring with seven pole connector, part number 118253.For you 00:00:12 to install, weve first going to go ahead and show you the mounting options for our new seven pole connector. Our first option, take the seven pole connector, put it up to the rear bumper fascia at the knockout and then trace out the socket of the connector. Once we have it traced out with our yellow paint marker, we will then go head and take a rotary tool and cut out this section. Now with the cut out, we can the go ahead and take the seven pole connector and mount it directly to the rear bumper fascia without removing the manufacturers knockout.This can be done by simply using the self-tapping screws. Next we will go ahead and remove the seven pole connector and the self-tapping screw and show you how to remove the knockout and secure the seven pole connector in position using a seven pole bracket. Our first step will be to go ahead and cut out the manufacturers knockout. more

Today on our 2011 Honda Pilot well be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package 7-Way Trailer Connector part number 56097. To begin with well need to open up the rear hatch of the vehicle. Youll notice on the drivers side rear theres a hatch that well need to open up. Inside that theres another cover panel that well need to remove to gain access to our wiring harness. The connection that well be making is located here. Its got a small section of blue tape holding it in place. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on this 2006 Honda Pilot, we're going to install part number 118336, tow ready. The first thing we need to do is get inside the vehicle. We'll open up the back hatch, and then we'll remove the entire floor covering. We'll remove the lid and these complex hinges to give us a little easier working room. Next, we'll go ahead and remove our threshold. Sometimes you may need a tool to pry this up with, but in this case it came up relatively easy. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on this 2007 Honda Pilot were going to be installing Tow-ready T-One 4-Pole Harness part# 118336. Where the back of our Pilot and we need flip up this storage compartment down here. Once we've done that we can begin removing this trim panel along a threshold. Over towards a driver sides near this latch were going to peel back the trim panel just a bit until we find this harness. Take a pry tool and it's just secured with little Christmas tree plastic pin, were just going to popped that out of the body and this what were going to use to connect our T-One harness. You go ahead and separate from the clip, we'll take our harness and snap it in this connector and make sure it's seeded all the way. more
